yes, this is it

the mundane is beautiful. moments in between here and there constitute a great deal of what is wonderful about living. life is not about the extraordinary but how the ordinary is extraordinary.

so forget birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and special occasions. lets celebrate the here and now, the morning frost, the afternoon sunsets, the tantalizing heat swirling around coffee cups, the steam rising from midnight showers, impromptu hotel check ins, family dinners/feuds, light filtering through curtains, eyeliner, clean linens, footprints in the mud, tall margheritas, caramel, nights spent avoiding schoolwork and watching you spin around to the sounds of christmas music, half naked, pulling me in to waltz alongside.

here's to more days spent snuggling in bed attempting to orchestrate a rendezvous, soup with egg noodles, late night garlic bread grilled cheese sandwiches eaten to the sound of vivaldi and puccini, to walking hand in hand on a sunday morning crisp with sunlight, to shopping and returning merchandise, the mosque, children, to every moment never commemorated but always remembered.
